We’re excited to introduce District Nursing, a new service available to clients of our practice, bringing compassionate veterinary nursing care, directly to your home.
This service is ideal for pets who find trips to the practice stressful, or those who are elderly, recovering from surgery or illness, or living with chronic conditions, enabling them to receive the care they need, in calm, comfortable and familiar surroundings.
For pet owners, we hope to to offer increased convenience, reassurance, and personalised support, making it easier to care for your pet with confidence.
Please note that we’re currently able to offer District Nursing in the following postcode areas:
EH4, EH5, EH11, EH12, EH13, EH14

What does District Veterinary Nursing involve?
Our District Nursing service provides supportive and follow up care for pets in their own homes, when it’s appropriate to do so. Examples include:
- Post-operative check-ups and wound care
- Administering medications or injections
- Monitoring recovery or ongoing conditions
- Support for elderly or mobility-limited pets
- Guidance for long-term care plans
Our nursing team are highly skilled, kind and caring, and non-judgemental.
Is this service suitable for me and my pet?
District nursing is available to all of our patients, but can be particularly helpful for pets or owners who may experiencing any of the following circumstances:
- Anxiety or stress, worsened by practice visits
- Limited mobility or chronic conditions
- Recovering from surgery and would benefit from home care
- Requiring regular monitoring or treatment
We will always discuss your pets’ individual needs with you to ensure home visits are appropriate and safe.

Whilst nursing at home is a great adjunct to the veterinary care we can provide, it’s not a complete replacement for everything we do at the practice, as some things require specific equipment, a sterile environment, or the expertise and knowledge of the wider team.
